Tazmoe had the opportunity to work SAM Inc. to help calibrate the cameras on Lynx Mobile Mapping System.
To calibrate the cameras of the Lynx Mobile Mapping System a systematic process needs to be employed. We used the Terrasolid calibration work flow to determine the camera calibration information needed. We selected an appropriate building large enough to fill most of the camera frames and provide plenty of identifiable tie point locations. We then collected the LiDAR and images of the building, after which we headed back to the office for processing. Collecting the tie points in the images is where patience is required then iterating through the process requires methodology. We were happy to experience improved fit with the point cloud after this calibration process.
